Safeguarding at Nanour

Every tutor is screened before they teach, and we don't list or assign a tutor until screening is complete. For every tutor this includes verified identity, professional references, safeguarding training, and a signed code of conduct. Criminal-record checks vary by country — a DBS check in the UK, or the closest local equivalent where the tutor teaches from — because these systems differ between jurisdictions.

Lessons are recorded for safeguarding, quality assurance, tutor support, and lesson continuity. Parents are told before any recording begins, and by booking a lesson you consent to it being recorded. Recordings are stored securely, and access is restricted to your child's tutor, you as the parent account holder, and Nanour staff with a legitimate operational need — never shared with anyone else except where the law requires it. Recordings are kept while your account is active and removed within 30 days of account deletion, unless a specific recording is needed for an open safeguarding investigation. You can ask to view or delete a recording at any time. This is separate from the 90-day lesson “playback” of slides and answers, which is not video or audio, and is set out in full in our Privacy Policy.

Parents have access to their child's account, lesson schedule, lesson summaries, and recordings on request. Children do not have private messaging with tutors outside the lesson environment.

Children use Nanour within the parent's account, under parent supervision — they do not have their own logins in this first version. Children cannot change personal details, payment information, or contact tutors outside scheduled lessons.

Tutors agree to a written code of conduct covering professional language, appropriate dress, lesson environment, communication boundaries, and safeguarding reporting. Breaches are investigated and may result in removal from the platform.
